Master Photos-Philippe Halsman

Masters Photos

Philippe Halsman was born on May 2nd in Riga, Latvia. He was a very well know photographer and loved photographing a lot of different subjects doing different things, some of the things he love taking photos of where Dancers,Artist,Musicians, Nudes,Writes and Jumping. Halsman died on June 25th, in 1979 in New York city.

Our Group was inspired

We picked Halsman because we loved his photos of jumping and all his other topics and photos of other ideas. But we picked his jumping because we could not use his Nudes for are project but he took pictures of the famous Marilyn Monroe nude which I thought was nice !

I learned that to be a great portrait photographer, I need to be able to keep it simple. I also need to have great lighting that can reflect off of the model so the picture can come out decent or maybe even perfect. One last thing I need to do to be able to have great portraits is breaking the rules of composition, even though they are rules they need to be broken because to become a great portrait photographer you have to have your own rules to follow

The cropped photo illustrates lines and a view point rule of composition because it shows that repetition has a massive impact on the composition. So the effect is that it has a message that the photo conveys.
